Sometimes we get so used to being comfortable to the kind of life we have now that we forget exhausting all our resources for the betterment of everyone. The scriptures tell us that talents were given to us to be used and to be multiplied a hundredfold or more! For what use is this life given to us if we don't live according to how we were designed? Indeed, those who love their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for Jesus's sake will save it..

“Define yourself radically as one beloved by God. This is the true self. Every other identity is illusion.”

lime.violet.pink!

it's almost five years since i constantly brought along with me my lunch pack during school days.. At first, i felt sooo out of place, quite shy and embarrassed.. huhuhu.. i mean, are we really this poor?

What society teaches me is that students are not supposed to bring with them packed lunch or "baon" in school especially when they're at college level. They are supposed to buy food in canteens, etc. At least that's what i observed in college schools and so i really felt different. i felt the need to always have somebody accompanying me during lunch - i was too shy to eat lunch alone and i can't possibly eat in canteens outside if i do not order anything!

4 years later, i am now on my final year of studying in the university.
through the years, i got used to bringing baon every school day.
i found a deeper sense of bringing baon in school - love and understanding for my parents. sure enough, a considerable amount of money is saved whenever i bring baon to school as compared to when i just buy food in school. Another thing i've developed in bringing baon in school is a sense of courage. i have trained myself not to be moved simply because i am afraid of what other students might say about me. i mean, what on Earth do they care about me for me to care about what they think about me, right? (it's what God thinks that matters) As a matter of fact, i tried eating alone in the middle of the food court - with my baon and amidst many people around me. In embracing and accepting what i was given, i saw a lot more students bringing with them their own baon. i was actually not alone. i was also able realize the advantages of bringing with me my baon - food safety and ease of obtaining food to eat. For as long as i have my baon with me, i could eat anywhere and anytime. :) in embracing and accepting what i was given, i saw some of my classmates also bringing with them baon if they needed to. In a way, bringing my baon in school taught me to widen my perspective and not simply give in to peer pressure. It gave me sight.

Indeed life can be challenging - especially teenage and college life. But let us know that an ultimately good God has the capacity to also bring out goodness in bad or unfavorable situations.

As Bo says, may your dreams come true! :)

"violet blood
running through pink palms
touching pink cheeks
feeling pink roses
and receiving pink kisses
basking in the lime green sun
raining on pink tulips"
And it was then that i noticed them - when You found me.

Parang kailan lang...

Could you imagine fragile, little children lying on cold cement like that - looking at you with eyes asking if that's the best you could do?
i digress...

You scared of me, li'l darling? :(
