A friend gave me a bar of chocolate. My younger sister at home begged me to give her some. I really don't want to be selfish but I want to really know if she deserved it. So I asked her to give me five reasons why I should give her a piece of chocolate. I was expecting her to let me know how good she had been that day, what achievements she has achieved and the like. Surprisingly, she gave me an answer to ponder. It was her first answer that struck me a lot.
Hearing those words, I have realized a lot. Haha! I'm not saying that we should praise others to get what we want. I just thought that we shouldn't be getting all the credit. After all, goodness doesn't come from us. It's source is God. In relation to that, we should widen our perspectives. Not only should we see what's beautiful in us but we should also see and appreciate what is beautiful and good in our neighbours. ;)
Most of all, we should ask God for what we need, not because we deserve it, but because HE is generous and He is filled with so much goodness.
